Tokyo airport

It felt like a futuristic bomb shelter. So quiet. So sterile. So empty. White. Clean. Shhhhhhh.

Minds muddle.

Minds muddle. My thoughts bounce around as if they are afraid to stay still. It's a reflection of my life, my mind. At times I feel it is as stable as the earth beneath my feet and at the same time it is as fragile as an egg shell. It reminds me the one thing that I know to be true: nothing is permanent and we are in a constant state of flux. We are forever shifting, moving and evolving and in doing so we are as malleable as the water which shapes our earth and sustains our being.

Water. Ice. Freezing. Beauty.

It has been arctic temperatures recently and on a beautiful but chilling sunny day I walked by the river through Whistler. It is stunning when it freezes.

Togetherness

My hand in yours,
a strength I can lean on.

As a tree sets roots,
my soul embraces the earth.

A reciprocal love,
a tenderness and understanding

Standing side by side
our unity with nature.

A few sayings that really inspire me

Great souls have wills,
Feeble ones have wishes.

Have a mouth as sharp as a dagger,
but a heart as soft as tofu.

Be not afraid of growing slowly,
Be afraid of standing still.

Man who waits for roast duck to fly into mouth
must wait a very, very long time.

There are many paths to the top of the mountain,
but the view is always the same.

My new kittens

Introducing Kali and Koba. Very cute halloween kittens who are amazing, fun and loving. Jut a few photos of them.

My soul

The sun shines through the windows of my mind.
It is the source of my enlightenment.

Glimpse of an angel

To find such simplicity and kindness
in life is true beauty.

To be so innocent without prejudice
in life is a blessing.

To have no assumptions and integrity
in life is a rarity.

It is the glimpse of an angel.

Remember the little details

I truly adore you.
You are the light in my darkness
The path I must walk.

Believe in the whispers of your heart.
Listen to the little details,
Open your ears
and ultimately your soul.

Remember to Breathe

Minds distort,
Images threaten,
Darkness invades,
Silence encompasses.

Nightmares appear,
Dreams disappear,
I close my eyes.
Breathe. Breathe.

Ancient cedars

During my yoga teacher training we went up to the ancient cedars near Whistler B.C. to spend a day connecting with nature, practising our yoga amongst the ancient cedars and opening our ears and hearts to all that around us. It was truly amazing. The natural world is so spectacular and we must remember to get out there and absorb it, breathe it, live it.

New Show at Samurai Sushi

I have a new show at Samurai Sushi in Nesters, Whistler. Really cool to have some shots up in there and I'm really happy. Check them out if you can and eat delicious sushi at the same time :)

12 September

Most of us have spent our lives caught up in plans, expectations, ambitions for the future, in regrets, guilt or shame about the past. To come into the present is to stop the war.

Still life at Macdonald and 4th Ave

Each day I was getting on the bus to UBC this summer I walked past the corner of Macdonald and 4th Avenue. An eclectic array of objects aligned the pavement every day. It was always an assortment of things which did not really mean anything. Placed on the side of the road they became like art to me. Each day I would wonder what was going to be on show and I was always astounded at what was found. Here are just 3 days of my findings and I always find myself walking down 4th Ave to seek out todays treasures.

Few more shots

Silence

Silence permeates my pores, sinks into my skin. It takes hold of my body as quickly and potently as a rattlesnake's venom and leaves me unable to move. I am slowly sinking into myself, my inner subconscious is pulling on the reins. I close my eyes. I surrender.

Black and white

At school we are looking into black and white photography and I just love it. It brings texture to life, scenes which you want to not be distracted by colour which we have certain connotations with. Here are a few photos. Kassia
